IELTS ও TOEFL দুটোই English proficiency test। কিন্তু Speaking delivery, question style, note-taking, scoring scale এবং test comfort আলাদা। কোনটা দেবেন, সেটা admission/visa requirement এবং আপনার skill comfort দিয়ে ঠিক করুন।

যে university বা organisation accept করবে, আগে তাদের list দেখুন। তারপর practice mock দিয়ে দেখুন কোন test format-এ আপনার score বেশি stable হয়।

IELTS না TOEFL: ২০২৬ score scale update মাথায় রাখুন

ETS ২০২৬ সালে TOEFL iBT score reporting নিয়ে updated 1–6 scale communication করেছে, while many institutions may still refer to older 0–120 requirements during transition. তাই TOEFL choose করলে target institution-এর current score language ভালোভাবে পড়ুন।

Coach tip: USA universities target করলে TOEFL common হতে পারে, কিন্তু IELTS-ও অনেক জায়গায় accepted। Test choose করার আগে program page-এ accepted tests এবং score validity date check করুন।

Vs TOEFL: decision নেওয়ার আগে নিজের case লিখুন

Test comparison page পড়ার সময় অনেকে “কোনটা সহজ?” প্রশ্ন দিয়ে শুরু করে। Coach হিসেবে আমি বলব, আগে “কোনটা accepted?” প্রশ্ন করুন। কোনো test আপনার কাছে সহজ হলেও যদি target institution, visa authority বা regulator সেটি accept না করে, তাহলে সেই score কাজে লাগবে না।

Student note template

“My target is _____. Accepted tests are _____. Minimum score is overall _____ and each skill _____. Result validity is _____. Official link checked on _____.” এই পাঁচটি line লিখে decision নিলে ভুল test book করার chance অনেক কমে।

শেষবার official information check করা হয়েছে: ২৭ জুন ২০২৬. Fee, centre availability, visa rule, university requirement এবং accepted-test list সময়ের সাথে বদলাতে পারে। Booking বা application করার আগে official page আবার মিলিয়ে নিন।
