দুই ধরনের summary completion
- Passage words: answer text থেকে নিতে হবে। word limit থাকবে।
- Box options: list থেকে word বেছে নিতে হবে। এখানে grammar ও meaning দুটো মেলাতে হয়।
Method
- Summary-এর title বা first sentence দিয়ে passage area খুঁজুন।
- Blank-এর grammar predict করুন: noun, verb, adjective.
- Summary-এর wording passage-এ paraphrase হয়ে আসবে ধরে নিন।
- সব blank শেষে পড়ে দেখুন summary logical হয়েছে কি না।
Summary: “The new material was valued because it was both light and ____.” Passage: “Engineers preferred the material as it weighed little and could resist heavy pressure.” Answer হতে পারে strong বা durable, option list অনুযায়ী।
“It became increasingly ____ after 2010.” Blank-এ কী ধরনের word দরকার?
ঠিক: adjective. “became increasingly” এর পরে adjective আসে: popular, common, expensive.
IELTS Reading summary completion-এ evidence আগে, answer পরে
Reading-এ সবচেয়ে বড় trap হলো নিজের general knowledge ব্যবহার করা। IELTS passage যা বলে, answer শুধু সেটার উপর দাঁড়াবে। তাই আমি students-দের একটি rule দিই: answer mark করার আগে passage-এর exact evidence underline করুন। evidence না থাকলে confidence থাকলেও answer দেবেন না।
একটি ছোট গল্প
মেহেদী “Not Given” খুব কম দিত। কারণ সে ভাবত, statement sensible হলে True হবে। পরে আমরা practice বদলালাম: সে আগে evidence line খুঁজত, তারপর answer দিত। দুই সপ্তাহের মধ্যে তার Reading mistake pattern পরিষ্কার হলো—সে English কম জানত না, সে passage-এর বাইরে ভাবত।

Practice drill
প্রতিটি ভুল answer-এর পাশে একটি ছোট note লিখুন: “wrong keyword”, “opposite meaning”, “no evidence”, বা “time pressure”. সাত দিনের মধ্যে repeated pattern বের হবে। Reading improve করার আসল রাস্তা এখান থেকেই শুরু হয়।
শেষবার official information check করা হয়েছে: ২৭ জুন ২০২৬. Fee, centre availability, visa rule, university requirement এবং accepted-test list সময়ের সাথে বদলাতে পারে। Booking বা application করার আগে official page আবার মিলিয়ে নিন।
