বন্ধুকে letter লিখতে গিয়ে অনেক student খুব casual হয়ে যায়, bullet point ভুলে যায়। Informal মানে messy নয়; natural tone + clear structure.

Informal letter কখন

Friend বা close family member-কে লিখলে informal tone ব্যবহার করবেন। greeting হতে পারে Dear Rafi, Hi Rafi, Dear Apu. contraction ব্যবহার করা যায়: I'm, you'll, don't.

নিজে ঠিক করুন

“I would be grateful if you could visit my house” বন্ধুকে বললে একটু stiff. Natural version কী?

Friendly মানে careless না

Informal letter বন্ধুকে লেখা হয়, তাই tone natural হবে। কিন্তু IELTS answer হিসেবে এটি still organised হতে হবে। খুব বেশি slang, emoji-style expression, বা broken sentence ব্যবহার করলে ভালো impression পড়ে না।

Task: Write to a friend inviting them to stay with you during their holiday.

Dear Nabila,

Hope you’re doing well. I was really happy to hear that you’re planning to visit Dhaka next month. You should definitely stay with me instead of booking a hotel.

My apartment has a spare room, so you’ll have enough space to rest and keep your things. It’s also close to the metro station, which will make it easy for us to move around the city.

We can visit the book fair, try a few new restaurants, and spend one evening by the lake. I know you like quiet places, so I’ll also take you to a café that has a really calm environment.

Let me know your travel dates once your ticket is confirmed. I’m really looking forward to seeing you.

IELTS Writing informal letter-এ band বাড়ানোর practical rule

Writing-এ অনেক student grammar ঠিক করতে গিয়ে main task ভুলে যায়। Examiner প্রথমে দেখেন আপনি প্রশ্নের কাজ করেছেন কি না, idea logically সাজিয়েছেন কি না, এবং language naturally control করতে পেরেছেন কি না। তাই প্রতিটি answer লিখার আগে ৩ মিনিট plan করুন। এই ৩ মিনিটই অনেক সময় ৩০ মিনিটের ভুল বাঁচায়।

একটি ছোট গল্প

আরিফ complex sentence লিখতে পারত, কিন্তু Task 2-তে question-এর দুই অংশ cover করত না। আমরা তাকে fancy word কমিয়ে “question checklist” দিলাম। প্রথম line-এ position, body paragraph-এ clear reason, শেষে direct conclusion—এই simple discipline-ই তার writing stable করল।
