Discussion question লিখবেন কীভাবে: দুই পক্ষ, নিজের মত, clear balance

Discussion question-এ এক পক্ষ বাদ দিলে answer incomplete হয়। আবার নিজের opinion না দিলে শেষ অংশ missing. তিন কাজ: view 1, view 2, your opinion.

মুন শুধু নিজের মত লিখেছিল, কারণ সে topic ভালো জানত। কিন্তু question ছিল “Discuss both views and give your opinion.” সে এক view বাদ দিয়েছে, তাই Task Response ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত।

প্রশ্নে সাধারণত থাকবে: Discuss both views and give your own opinion. এখানে “both” এবং “your” দুটোই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

নিরাপদ structure

  1. Introduction: দুই view paraphrase + আপনার opinion short.
  2. Body 1: first view explain + example.
  3. Body 2: second view explain + example + why you prefer it.
  4. Conclusion: balanced final answer.

নিজের opinion কোথায় দেবেন

Introduction-এ short opinion দিন, body paragraph-এ stronger side explain করুন, conclusion-এ final answer দিন। শুধু conclusion-এ opinion দিলে অনেক সময় late মনে হয়।

শুধু নিজের opinion লিখলে “both views” cover হয় না।

Discussion essay আর opinion essay এক না

Discussion question-এ সাধারণত দুই পক্ষই discuss করতে হয়। শুধু নিজের মত লিখলে answer incomplete হয়ে যায়। যদি question-এ “Discuss both views and give your opinion” থাকে, তাহলে দুই view + নিজের opinion—তিনটিই দরকার।

নিরাপদ balanced plan

  1. Introduction: দুই view paraphrase + নিজের opinion.
  2. Body 1: প্রথম view explain করুন।
  3. Body 2: দ্বিতীয় view explain করুন এবং নিজের opinion connect করুন।
  4. Conclusion: দুই পক্ষ acknowledge করে final opinion দিন।

Sample introduction

Question idea: Some people believe children should start school early, while others think they should start later. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Some people argue that children should begin formal education at an early age, whereas others believe they should spend more time at home before starting school. In my view, a slightly later start is usually better because very young children need more time for emotional and social development.

Sample view paragraph

Those who support early schooling argue that it helps children build academic habits sooner. In a classroom, young learners can practise basic reading, counting and social behaviour under a teacher’s guidance. This may be especially helpful for children whose parents have limited time to teach them at home.

Discussion essay কি balanced হতে হবে?

হ্যাঁ, কিন্তু balanced মানে confused না। নিজের final position clear রাখতে হবে।

IELTS Writing Task 2 discussion-এ band বাড়ানোর practical rule

Writing-এ অনেক student grammar ঠিক করতে গিয়ে main task ভুলে যায়। Examiner প্রথমে দেখেন আপনি প্রশ্নের কাজ করেছেন কি না, idea logically সাজিয়েছেন কি না, এবং language naturally control করতে পেরেছেন কি না। তাই প্রতিটি answer লিখার আগে ৩ মিনিট plan করুন। এই ৩ মিনিটই অনেক সময় ৩০ মিনিটের ভুল বাঁচায়।

একটি ছোট গল্প

আরিফ complex sentence লিখতে পারত, কিন্তু Task 2-তে question-এর দুই অংশ cover করত না। আমরা তাকে fancy word কমিয়ে “question checklist” দিলাম। প্রথম line-এ position, body paragraph-এ clear reason, শেষে direct conclusion—এই simple discipline-ই তার writing stable করল।

লক্ষ্য হলো difficult English দেখানো নয়; লক্ষ্য হলো clear thinking দেখানো। IELTS Writing-এ controlled, relevant, organised answer সবসময় memorised template-এর চেয়ে ভালো।
