1. Introduction
This page describes how Arunima Tech Solutions ("IELTSNexa", "we", "us", or "our"), the operator of the IELTSNexa product, collects and uses information when you use the IELTSNexa website and services (the "Service"), and the terms under which we offer the Service to you ("you" or "your"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to both the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service set out below.
If you do not agree with any part of this document, please do not use the Service.
2. Alpha-period notice
IELTSNexa is currently in alpha. This means a few things you should know before signing up:
- Free Pro access for everyone. During the alpha, all signups receive Pro-tier features (full test library and a quota of AI writing evaluations) at no cost. We are not collecting payment during this period.
- Limited capacity. Alpha access is capped at the first 500 users. Once the cap is reached, new signups are temporarily closed.
- The product is being actively developed. You may encounter bugs, broken layouts, or occasional downtime. Test content, scoring, and AI feedback may change without notice as we refine the Service.
- We will use what we learn from alpha to improve the product. See Analytics & session recording for what we observe and how.
3. Privacy Policy
We collect the minimum information needed to run the Service and improve it. We do not sell your personal data. The sections below explain what we collect, why, and how to control it.
3.1 Data we collect
When you create an account and use the Service, we collect:
- Account details — your email address, a password (stored hashed), and any optional profile information you provide such as display name, country, or target band.
- Practice activity — which tests you take, your answers, scores, time taken, and attempt history.
- Writing submissions — the essays you submit for evaluation, plus the feedback returned to you.
- Payment metadata — if you subscribe to a paid plan, we record which plan you hold and your subscription status. We do not see or store your card number; payments are processed by Stripe.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device information, and timestamps. We use this for security, abuse prevention, and basic analytics.
- Product analytics & session recordings — anonymised events about how you use the Service (page views, button clicks, email verification, library views, test starts, submissions, abandoned attempts, result views, and report views) and, during the alpha, screen recordings of your interactions. We do not record what you type into forms. See Analytics & session recording for details.
3.2 How we use your data
- To provide the Service: serve you tests, save your progress, return AI feedback on your essays, and apply your subscription entitlements.
- To communicate with you: account verification emails, password resets, billing receipts, and (if you opt in) product updates.
- To prevent abuse: detect automated access, account sharing, or attempts to circumvent paid-tier limits.
- To improve the Service: aggregate, anonymised metrics on which tests are attempted, which question types are missed most, and where users drop off. We do not use the contents of your essays to train external AI models.
3.3 Service providers we share data with
We use a small number of third-party processors to run the Service. Each one only receives the data needed for its function, and is contractually required to handle your data appropriately.
- Supabase — authentication and session management. Receives your email, hashed password, and session tokens.
- Turso — application database. Stores your profile, attempt history, and subscription record.
- Stripe — payment processing. Receives your name, billing address, and payment details directly; we receive only confirmation that payment was successful and a customer ID.
- Resend — transactional email delivery. Receives your email address and message body for the emails we send you.
- An AI evaluation provider — receives your submitted essay text and prompt to generate the band feedback. See section 3.4.
- PostHog — product analytics and session recording. Receives an opaque user identifier (not your email), the events listed above, and (during the alpha) screen recordings with form input masked. See section 3.5.
- Google Analytics — aggregate website and product analytics. Receives page views, safe event metadata, and an opaque user identifier when you are signed in; it does not receive your email, essays, transcripts, passwords, or payment details from us.
3.4 AI essay evaluation
When you submit a writing task for evaluation, the essay text and the task prompt are sent to a third-party large-language-model provider. The provider returns a band estimate and line-level feedback, which we store in your account and show to you.
We instruct the provider not to retain or train on your submissions, but we cannot guarantee the behaviour of every external system. Do not paste personal, confidential, or sensitive information into a writing task — IELTS prompts ask you to write about general topics, and you should keep it that way.
3.5 Analytics & session recording
To understand how people use the Service and to find bugs faster, we collect anonymised product analytics through PostHog and Google Analytics. The events we capture are limited to product interactions: when you load a page, verify your email, view a practice library, start a test, submit a test, abandon or reset an in-progress attempt, submit an essay or speaking recording for evaluation, or view a result/report. Each event is tagged with an opaque user identifier (a random UUID), not your email address.
Alpha-period session recording. During the alpha we additionally record anonymised playbacks of your screen — mouse movements, scrolls, clicks, and page navigation — so we can see how the Service is actually used and where it confuses people. The recordings are deleted automatically after 30 days and are used only for product improvement.
What is never recorded:
- Anything you type into a form, including your password, email address, essay text, contact-form message, or any other input field.
- The contents of API responses, including AI feedback and answer keys.
- Elements we have explicitly marked as private (your displayed email on the account page, for example).
After the alpha period ends we will reassess whether to continue session recording. If we keep it, we will update this page and (where required by law) ask for your consent before continuing to record.
3.6 Retention & deletion
We keep your account, attempt history, and writing submissions for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account (see Your rights), we delete your profile and practice data within 30 days, except for limited records we are legally required to retain (e.g., billing records, typically for 7 years depending on jurisdiction).
Anonymised, aggregated metrics that cannot be linked back to you may be retained indefinitely.
3.7 Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate personal data.
- Delete your account and associated personal data.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent for any optional processing you previously agreed to.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@ieltsnexa.com. We will respond within 30 days.
3.8 Cookies & local storage
We use browser local storage to keep you signed in across pages. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. PostHog and Google Analytics set cookies or local storage identifiers that help attribute page views and product events to the same browser across pages. PostHog identity is reset when you log out, and Google Analytics receives no email address or typed form content from us.
4. Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the Service. By using IELTSNexa you accept them. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.
4.1 Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that happens under your account.
- One account per person. Sharing accounts to bypass paid-plan limits is a breach of these terms.
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep it up to date.
4.2 Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for anything illegal, abusive, or in violation of someone else's rights.
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute the test content, audio recordings, answer keys, or AI feedback in bulk.
- Reverse-engineer, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, AI agents) to interact with the Service without our written permission.
- Submit content that is unlawful, harmful, harassing, or that infringes the rights of any third party.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules, with or without notice.
4.3 Intellectual property
The IELTS test materials available on the Service (passages, recordings, questions, answer keys) are reproduced from Cambridge IELTS volumes and remain the property of their respective copyright holders. They are made available to you for personal exam-preparation use only. "IELTS" is a registered trademark of Cambridge English & the British Council; we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by either organisation.
The IELTSNexa interface, evaluation pipeline, and any non-Cambridge content (including the AI feedback we generate) are owned by Arunima Tech Solutions. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute them without permission.
You retain ownership of the writing submissions you make. By submitting an essay for evaluation, you grant us a limited licence to process it through our evaluation pipeline and return feedback to you, and to retain it in your account history.
4.4 Payments & cancellation
Alpha note: billing is paused during the alpha — see Alpha-period notice. The clauses below describe how paid plans work once they are introduced.
- Paid plans (Pro, Premium) are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. Prices are shown on the pricing page and may vary by region.
- You can cancel at any time from your account page. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep paid access until the end of the current billing period.
- All payments are final and non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable consumer-protection law.
- If a payment fails, we will retry it. If retries continue to fail, your plan reverts to the Free tier and your paid features become unavailable until billing is restored.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be notified by email.
4.5 Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI feedback will exactly match a human IELTS examiner's marks. Band-score estimates are an indication, not a guarantee of any particular result on the real exam.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
4.6 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Arunima Tech Solutions and its officers, employees, and agents disclaim all liability arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, including but not limited to any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise.
Where applicable law does not permit a complete exclusion of liability, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. For users on the Free tier, that amount is zero.
4.7 Changes to this document
We may update this page from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, if appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
4.8 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Service will be resolved in the courts of Bangladesh, unless local consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
4.9 Contact
